Dr. Dougal McCreath,  Professor of Mining Engineering and Director of the Elliot Lake Research Field Station, has over 30 years of worldwide experience in the practical solution of geotechnical and environmental problems in mining and civil engineering projects. Dr. McCreath’s experience includes over 300 consulting assignments, teaching and research, and comprises detailed technical and managerial responsibility for large and small scale projects involving rock engineering, soil mechanics, contaminant hydrogeology, and expert legal opinion. He is the author of over 50 technical publications. 

In March of 2001 Dr. McCreath was selected by the Engineering Institute of Canada to be a designated Fellow of the Institute. Fellows are selected from among 35,000 members for their excellence in engineering and their outstanding service to the engineering profession in Canada.
